The Partnership for Prosperity's Business Plan for the Sacramento Region is not gathering dust on a shelf.
After launching the plan in spring 2006, Partnership leaders created teams of business, community and elected leaders to implement it. Members of these "action teams" identify and carry out tasks and timelines to help our region advance in each of the plan's five priority areas.
We think it's a unique level of accountability for a uniquely collaborative, broad-based economic development strategy.
The Partnership for Prosperity action teams include the:
- Clean Energy Technology action team:
Members of the "C.E.T." team focus on building investment in our promising clean energy technology cluster, including the clean energy, green building and efficient transportation sectors. The Sacramento region is well-positioned to be the nation's leader in this area. Read more...
- Education/Workforce action team:
Members of this team work on two of the strategies in the Partnership for Prosperity's regional business plan. One aims to ensure all of the region's high-school students are ready for work, training or higher education. Another seeks to boost links between higher ed and the needs of the local economy, helping to create both a strong workforce and good local job opportunities for grads. Read more...
- Civic Amenities action team:
Team members work to enhance awareness and investment in "civic amenities" – parks, entertainment and sports venues, performing arts facilities, museums and other cultural attractions that boost both our quality of life and our ability to attract and retain the best talent for our local economy. Members aim to make the Sacramento region the best place to do business in California, both by maximizing access and use of existing economic development resources and by enhancing communication between government and business about new ones. Read more...
Action Teams meet regularly for detailed strategic planning sessions. Each team consists of approximately
25 members, including project Partners, elected officials, and other community leaders that volunteer to link their
organizations' work to the Regional Business Plan.
