For guests who have attended before they are quickly reassured that this is the same quality event, yet slightly different, as years past. They are greeted by old friends and a few new faces, some pursue the latest exhibits in the museum while others visit the hors d’ oeuvres table.
Newcomers may linger in front of the photos of the 2011 California Hall of Fame inductees, a bit unsure on where to go first, they think to themselves, “I hope a chef like Patrick Mulvaney prepared the food; oh my, was that Randy Sater?; I really can’t believe these Valley Vision folks own nice clothes; and where’s the wine?” They enter the museum and feel a sense of familiarity by being surrounded by California lore, a friend greets them and shows them the way to the wine. Soon they are enjoying a crisp white wine from the Sierra Foothills.
Ah, this is Legacy Feast… and it’s only just begun. The 2011 Valley Vision Legacy Feast Celebration will once again honor three deserving regional leaders during a fun and creative award ceremony: Meg Arnold of SARTA as our Economic Leader of the Year; Larry Greene of the Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District as our Environmental Sustainability Leader of the Year; and Scott Hanson of Hanson McClain as our Social Equity Leader of the Year. Each awardee will bestow a $3,000 grant to an organization of their choice. After the ceremony guests will spend the mid-Spring evening in the courtyard enjoying local food and wines and good company.
