Danielle Susa

Danielle is a Communications & Research Specialist for Valley Vision. She joined Valley Vision in 2021 as a Project Associate, supporting the 21st Century Workforce Impact Area.

Professional Experience:

Danielle was born and raised in Harlingen, Texas. Prior to joining Valley Vision, Danielle served as an AmeriCorps Member with City Year Sacramento for two years, providing daily support to students in the Sacramento City Unified School District. In addition to mentoring middle school students in English Language Arts and social-emotional development, Danielle fostered community partnerships as the Communications Coordinator for her team.

In-between her two years of service, Danielle interned at Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs (APAPA) in Sacramento, where she worked with Asian Americans Advancing Justice – California and the Asian Law Caucus. Some of her responsibilities included attending legislative committee hearings, organizing outreach events for over 25 statewide organizations, and conducting research on policies regarding key impact areas.

Interests

Reading (and occasionally attempting to write) young adult and historical fiction novels. Saving a plethora of cooking videos on YouTube for future reference. Playing MMORPGs and other video games a little too competitively. Daydreaming about traveling to new places. Reminiscing about Texas sunsets. Binging Studio Ghibli movies and other animated films with my friends and family.
