Caitlin Blockus
Caitlin Blockus began her career at Valley Vision in 2021 as a Project Associate in the Workforce Development Impact Area. She soon worked her way up to a Project Manager position and serves as Coalition Manager for the Capital Region Coalition for Digital Inclusion (CRCDI). Caitlin’s passion for digital inclusion was sparked by her previous work on political campaigns, where she served as an organizer in El Dorado, Alpine, and Placer Counties, and advocated for candidates who support rural broadband deployment. Caitlin looks forward to bringing her passion for rural advocacy and workforce development perspective to her new role as a Project Manager within the Broadband & Digital Equity Impact Area.
Professional Experience
During her undergraduate career, Caitlin served as an intern in UC Riverside’s Office of Sustainability, working alongside the university to track and improve the usage of green energy. During her senior year of college, Caitlin worked as a Legislative Intern in the office of Congressman Raul Ruiz in Washington, D.C., carrying out policy research, and writing Congressional research reports. Caitlin also spent time working at Ramapo for Children, a camp in upstate New York for children and young adults with cognitive and behavioral disabilities.
After her graduation from UC Riverside with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Policy, Caitlin interned at Callahan Public Affairs in Sacramento, where she oversaw coalition building and outreach to over 50 statewide organizations. Prior to her time at Valley Vision, Caitlin was a Field Organizer on a congressional campaign for California’s 4th District – building community over shared values, and fighting to elect a representative who truly represents the constituents of her home district.
