Kathy Saechou
Kathy’s ethnicity is Mien-American, and her family’s history is deeply rooted in Northern Laos. She was born and raised here in Oak Park, Sacramento, and her family, background and community are the core reasons why she chose an educational and career path in planning. Community is a very important aspect in Kathy’s life and is the main reason why she chose Valley Vision.
Professional experience
Before joining Valley Vision, Kathy interned as a planning technician at Yolo County Transportation District, supporting the planning staff in delivering essential multimodal transportation services to various communities throughout the Yolo County region. During her time there, she worked with staff on various tasks that included outreach to community-based organizations and implementation of public transit to communities in need. She also worked alongside senior and executive staff on the mega-regional project, the Yolo Managed Lanes Project.

Bachelor of Arts in Geography- Metropolitan Planning (California State University-Sacramento)
